I’m not sure why it posted my pictures in the middle of my post maybe because it was so long. I thought it needed to keep your attention that way. Anyway, I’m gonna post some more photos below this one let’s see how it goes.
What an amazing weekend! It was fantastic to see so many people turn up for patrols and our epic BBQ at Zane Grey on Saturday. A HUGE shoutout to Beth for cooking all those burgers and hot dogs. If I'd been in charge, you might have ended up with food poisoning. I pretty much BBQ to two temps... MOO and Jerky, lol. It was a blast watching everyone's competitive streaks come out during the ring toss games. Wow, Beth and Jacqui have some serious skills when it comes to gaming!
She may not be on here, but a special mention goes to Matt's grandma Gwen. She made the extra trip back up to Zane Grey when she was feeling sick just to bring us her famous candied jalapeno chutney because I told her I remembered how good it was last year. What a trooper!
Thanks to Larry and Heather for the delicious watermelon. Too bad you couldn't stay for the party and after-party at camp. I finally got the whole Camp-In Movie thing worked out, and we watched all but the last two minutes of Miss Congeniality on the big screen. Next time, I'll make sure my Jackery is charged to 100%. It's a work in progress.
Sherri and Dave, paddling with you both was a highlight, especially seeing that snake catch and attempt to eat a catfish during our lunch break at Shohola. What a memorable moment! I know that snake has a vendetta against me, so I'm being extra careful out there. Don let me have a spin in his boat, and I really enjoyed it. Who knows, maybe I'll buy it after all. Jamie and Jay were amazing on the river on Saturday. I told them I wanted to learn as much as possible, and they delivered. You guys rock!
Jacqui and Jerry, yesterday (Sunday) was the most exciting and sad
day so far. Swamping my boat (Jacuzziyak) at Cedar Rapids just so Jerry could find that big bag of drugs was my plan all along 😉. Rushing down to Shohola for that tragic event was tough, especially since we cautioned that poor man to put on his life jacket. Jacqui, watching you trek back up Shohola rapids to help the stranded girl after getting her friend ashore was inspiring. What a long, difficult, and slippery journey that must have been.
Suzie made fun of my radio skills when both radios were talking to me at the same time, and she heard me say, "Hold on, I have someone on the other line!" OK, so my radio skills definitely need work, lol. I guess they got a good laugh back in the office.
I really enjoyed chatting with more of the crew up at Zane Grey during the BBQ. Corrine, Katy, Jasmine, Sophia, Annie, Paige, and Will (who looks so much like my son I did a double take), thank you for all you do.
We make such a great team, and I'm so thankful to be part of this group. NCSP brings me so much joy, and I thank you all! Looking forward to seeing you at the Zane Grey Festival next Saturday.
Jerry and Jacqui delivering the drugs...
